| Formula's
Racing When you visit Skegness Stadium you will
be rewarded with first class racing and excitement that
only Short Circuit racing has to offer.
We feature different Formulas of cars each
with their own unique style of racing, please look at
some of the MAIN types of racing we have to offer below:
BriSCA Formula 1 Stockcars:

F1 Stockcars are the premier UK open wheel contact
racing, each car has a V8 engine of American origin with
massive amount of horsepower. These are regarded as the
'Big League' in oval racing terms due to the big hits,
big noise and certainly big crowds that come from all
over Europe to watch them perform. Drivers are allowed to
use contact to push other drivers out of the way to make
progress in the race.
BriSCA Formula 2 Stockcars:

F2 Stockcars are a smaller, lightweight version of an F1
car, using the Ford Pinto engine with 2 Litre capacity,
there is always lots of action when the 'twos are out on
track! The F2 Stox run to almost the same rules as the
bigger F1s.
2 Litre Saloon Stox

Heavily armoured cars, in which Sierras and Sapphires are
universally regarded as the first choice of donor car.
All cars powered by 2-litre Ford Pinto engines.
Occasionally controversial, very hard hitting, contact
racing - not for the feint hearted - as cars hit, spin
and sometimes roll!
Mention the words 'Stock Cars' to anyone and this is the
image that is usually conjured up in their minds. These
are battle scared chariots carrying heavy offensive and
defensive armouring, where full contact racing is most
definitely the name of the game.
National Hot Rods

Days
of thunder National Hot Rods return to Skegness Stadium
after a 15 years absence, possibly the fastest
breathtakingly awesome form of oval motor sport. A superb
spectacle as up to 25 235+bhp cars on a thundering ¼
mile oval arena, challenge for the front.
Supremely fast, ultra competitive racing thoroughbred
cars, built around a space frame with maximum 2L engine.
Racing tyres and painstakingly hi tec preparation. A Pure
Power formula, with no deliberate pushing or boring.
REBELS:

Rebels are scaled down Ford Pops, with a Reliant 850cc
engine at its heart. Each car weighs exactly the same and
are built to the same specification, the rest is down to
driver ability. Each Rebel has bumpers front and back
which are used in the same way as the F1 and F2 stockcars
- to remove the driver in front in gaining a position.
for more details of Rebels including how you can HIRE
one, go to www.rebelsracing.com .
MINISTOX:

Ministox is racing for the 10-15 year olds, Ministox are
based on the Mini with a 1000cc engine with slight
modification, a fully welded steel chassis with heavy
armour is used to protect the driver, many sons and
daughters of current Stockcar Drivers take part in this
formula and despite the drivers only being kids, the
action is as thick and fast as any other formula, Contact
is allowed in the same way as other Stockcar formulas.
OVAL LEGENDS

Stunning 5/8 scale race cars powered by 1200cc motorbike
engines, with body shapes based on US cars from 1920's
and 30's. Racing is very fast and competitive.
LOCAL "DOMESTIC" FORMULAS:
1300 Saloon Stox:

This is a rapidly growing class, that provides similar
action to the 2L Saloon Stock Cars. Fitted with outside
ironwork that enables drivers to keep their cars looking
smart while still getting involved in plenty of
spectacular Stock Car action. The control tyre introduced
in 1997 has seen even closer competition.
The 1300 Saloon are another great formula which produces
lots of close, exciting full contact racing with big
fields of cars!
GT HOT RODS

Hot
Rod Racing is different to most other formulas which
appear at Skegness, in that deliberate contact between
cars is not allowed. GT Hot Rod Racing sees the fastest
drivers who start at the very back of the grid have to
hone their racing skills and it is an instant decision
and split second timing which will see drivers overtake
and move up the grid.
GT Hot Rods run using up to 1600cc engines, with very
limited tuning. All the cars are front wheel drive,
arched and skirted and all run on controlled re-mould
tyres
Vauxhall Novas mix it with Fiestas, Citroen AX's and VW
Golf's and the like, to provide a good blend of available
cars.
The low cost of this formula has encouraged drivers to
join and the wide bends and fast smooth surface is ideal
for this formula and a real challenge to drivers of all
ability to join this growing Hot Rod formula.
JUNIOR RODS

The
Junior Rod formula allows the younger generation to cut
their teeth in motor racing. This is a fine formula for
boys and girls to attempt to emulate their heroes or in
some cases "Dad". Boys between the ages of 11
and 16 and girls between the ages of 11 and 16 can take
part. You may be thinking that these are expensive
machines, fear not, the cars are completely standard
1000cc Novas or Fiestas. The cars carry sufficient
protection for the driver to prevent the youngsters from
coming to any harm due to over-enthusiasm in this non
contact class.
The racing is quite similar to the GT Hot Rods . They
drive in a clockwise direction unlike some of the
'senior' formulae whose direction is clockwise. Once old
enough the youngsters can enter the 'senior' formulas
where they can really stretch their legs! The racing from
the Junior Rods is always exciting and very rarely dull!
TSR BANGERS / BANGERS
/ UNLIMITED BANGERS
The name banger conjures up an impression of heavy
contact racing, TSR Bangers however are an exception to
this impression being a 'limited contact' class. Don't be
misled though, the action and entertainment that this
formula dishes out is as entertaining as any other Banger
formula with massive grids of cars seeing cars spin out
in all directions!

The TSR Banger formula is designed to tempt you, the
spectator off of the terrace an on to the track for the
first time. The cost and preparation are kept to a
minimum in the TSR Banges. The cars used are all
generally standard cars, with the radiator being kept in
its standard position preventing any 'heavy' contact,
although there is still enough contact to keep the
spectator interested!
Equally entertaining and interesting is the type of car
that is used in this formula, where cars considered
useless are resurrected and brought back into service.
So, why not give it a go and get that old Cavalier off
your front garden...!
The cheapest way to go racing, this restricted contact
class is open to cars up to 1600cc. Ideal for the novice
driver, but equally popular with established stars. Big
entries provide affordable fun and excitement all the
way.
As well as novice drivers, there are plenty of
established stars in BangerRod racing who love pitting
their talents against thirty plus other drivers to try to
win some of the big Silverware on offer!

Banger Racing - 2 Litre & Unlimited:
These cars are the type of car you see everyday, often
MOT failures that have been resurrected to give one last
chance of survival! these cars are driven to destruction
and then to the scrapyard! Banger racing is one of the
cheapest forms of motorsport in the UK and because of
this lots of drivers take part. Skegness Stadium offers
all classes of Bangers from the 'Nudge & Spin' to the
full on heavy metal 'Unlimiteds'

of these Formulas, please get in touch with us and we
