race, with £10 travel money.

TSR Banger Bumpers
It is pleasing to report that the scrutineers are
now fairly happy that where drivers are using the optional front bumper
on their cars for TSR Bangers, they are being constructed of steel to
the correct specification. However, there have been some issues with the
way that the bumpers are being mounted which need to be addressed. As a
guide, the bumpers should only extend 6 to 8 inches along the chassis
rail for mounting purposes. Because of the differing layout of the
chassis rails on different types of cars, we cannot give a strict
measurement that must to be complied with and that will work properly on
all cars. Therefore, a certain amount of discretion must be applied by
drivers when building cars and a similar view will be taken by
scrutineers to ensure that bumpers are safely and securely mounted but
that they are not being used as a form of brace for the structure of the
front of the car. Be sensible!

1300 Stock Cars Skegness Whites & Yellows
As predicted in the last newsletter, there
have been some changes to the order in the whites and yellows series as
a result of the May fixture although the drivers racing from white and
yellow during the month didn’t put as much pressure on the leaders as
they could have done! If the pace of change was slow in May, things will
surely change more quickly in June when we have a series of back to back
fixtures for the 1300s including the mid-June speedweekend and a few
midweek excursions to the seaside. Having dropped back to yellow for
June, 216 Daniel Booth could be the one to set the pace this month.
Latest points are listed below:
No Driver Points Prize (at end of season)
Grade next period
27 Steve McMillan 59 £100 SuperStar
216 Daniel Booth 42 £75 Yellow
800 Scott Greenslade 41 £50 Yellow
33 Warren Porter 37 £30 Red
30 Thomas Howard 31 £25 Blue
473 Dean Moat 29 £20 Blue
298 Andy Lowth 26 Blue
7 Ady Moden 17 Yellow
191 Shaun McMillan 16 Red
668 Rick Martin 8 Yellow
214 Thomas Yould 7 Yellow
09 Buster Ketteringham 6 Yellow
56 Rick Barker 4 White
156 Allan Watson 3 Yellow
215 Ben Yould 2 White
660 Daniel Mitchell 1 Yellow
As we can see, only 4 of the top ten drivers will be eligible to score
in this series in May, so there should be plenty of changes taking
place!
1300 Stock Car Funcoast Grand Prix
The Funcoast Grand Prix is the official track
championship for 1300 Stock Cars at Skegness and works in a similar way
to the BriSCA F1 National Series because only certain fixtures count
towards the points. Most of the qualifying meetings are the midweek
Summer sessions but the June speedweekend is a Funcoast Grand Prix round
on both days so there are no excuses for not having a go! Two rounds
have run so far and the current standings are as shown:
